On 4th May 2018, KNCCI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Foundation geared towards supporting the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) under the 2jiajiri program. KCB will leverage on the Chambers wide network in all the 47 Counties to reach its aim of enabling 10,000 new and existing entrepreneurs annually across the country and help them overcome the –trade barriers they face by providing technical and business skills training, access to finance and -business assets as well as access – to -mentors and business networks.
On its part the Chamber will conduct round table forums with the business community to expedite job placements, on-job-training and industrial attachment for 2jiajiri beneficiaries within the respective counties. KNCCI will further conduct County level market trend analysis to inform 2jiajiri beneficiaries on emerging market for MSME growth and establish County based Business Information Centers (BIC) at the Huduma Centers.
In his statement the National Chairman Kiprono Kittony said the MoU will help tackle the problem of unemployment faced by the youth around the country by enabling businesses expand through the financial and technical support from Kenya Commercial Bank foundation.
