With the holiday season fast approaching, most of us will be wrecking our brains on what to gift our loved ones. The art of gifting is a noble gesture, though often fraught with fear of buying something inappropriate. Gifting a woman is easy peasy, just get her something big and shiny wrapped in a pretty gift box and she will obsess over it for days. On the other hand, gifting a man is not an art many women have mastered. It’s always a shirt, socks or another shirt in a different color. Good thing men don’t fuss about their gifts because it’s not manly to do so.
Today I present you with good gift ideas for your man. Consider this an early Christmas gift from me. You are welcome!
Watches and Shoes
Most women shy away from buying men shoes and watches, because quite a number of them cost an arm and a leg. But with these two, you can never go wrong (just don’t buy them in traffic on Uhuru highway). Get him that Rolex watch he is always drooling over and see him brag to his friends about you. Up his shoe game with the trendy vintage Oxford. Just stay within your limits, don’t spend what you don’t have. Don’t take a loan to buy a gift either.
Now now, you don’t want your man walking around smelling like a rhino. For some guys, fragrance is still an undiscovered territory, but he is lucky to have you by his side to help with that. Try to avoid those cheap perfumes that will have you sneezing after every three seconds. Go for the high end designers like Calvin Klein or Michael Kors. Give him that signature scent that every time he hugs you, his perfume remains lingering on you.
A jersey of his favorite team
If he likes Barcelona, get him a Barcelona Jersey with his name on it and the number of his favorite player. If he likes The Lakers, do the same. Men go koo koo over this. You should see them walking around with their jerseys on. You’d think they are Messi or LeBron James himself. Such pride!
Does he like video games? Why not get him a play station player. Now this is speaking their language. Their favorite bonding activity with the boys. If you find buying a PS player way beyond your budget, you can opt for getting him the latest game. Perhaps the latest Fifa or PUBG?
If your pockets are deep enough, gadgets is one other thing you can never go wrong with. That phone he is always checking out online, a camera if he is into photography, a laptop or even a shaving machine (you can throw in those shaving creams for after shaving bumps). And don’t forget to thoroughly check the features on these gadgets before purchasing, don’t just use “big and shiny “ as your criteria.
A bottle of something
If you are going to gift him a drink, it has to be those exquisite brands. Go for the top shelf drink. One with a good advertisement on television. If it’s whiskey, a straight bourbon or a single malt like Glenfiddich would do. If you know his favorite bottle, surprise him with it and watch his face light up like the 4th of July.
Tickets to a concert.
The end of the year comes with a lot of end of year parties and concerts. Big international artists will be flooding in the country to perform. This year, Koffee from Jamaica and Joeboy from Nigeria are making the headlines. If your man is a big fan of an artist who will be performing, surprise him with tickets to that concert. Go make amazing memories together.
If your man likes to read, then this one will strike a cord. It’s an intellectual and thoughtful gift. It also says something about your predisposition. Get him the latest book from one of his best authors. Or you can get him a business book about investment or stock market. This is a noble gesture.
How about asking? If you are not going for a surprise of course. This way, you will be sure you are getting the right gift. It will also save you time and the headache of deciding which is which.
