The 2018 World Cup earnestly began with Russia the Host country thrashing Saudi Arabia a good five goals to nil. Uruguay faced a Mosalah-less Egypt and won by a goal. Morocco and Iran followed next with the odds favoring Iran after their own team member scored for Iran. The icing on the cake however came in when Portugal faced Spain, this was arguably the best game and officially ushered in the World Cup in style.
With Diego Costa and Cristiano Ronaldo playing the same position, we were sure to be served to a steamy game and true to our expectation, we were served to a spectacular match all along. Diego Costa and Cristiano Ronaldo going head to head on equalizing the goals ,Diego left the game in the second half while Spain was on the lead only for Cristiano to equalize it with a hat-trick .Unfortunately the cameras span to Diego Costa and we all saw his reaction ,quite disappointed to say the least .With that game setting the pace for the World Cup, we cannot wait to see what the likes of Messi will do in the subsequent games .Maybe serve us to a delicacy of classical goals in this world cup ?
If there is something to learn from Cristiano Ronaldo from yesterday’s game against Spain,it is the ruthless focus displayed and giving what you love your all.Well ,playing this game in the backdrop of a tax-evasion charge,he did not let that burden bring him down for whatever reason .He fought relentlessly and in his pursuit for greatness, he was visibly disappointed when Spain was ahead of them and you could see it. He nonetheless chose to focus on the game ruthlessly. Before scoring the majestic hat-trick, wow, he took several deep breaths, aimed and scored with such a level of accuracy. After he scored it, he felt accomplished, you could see it from his eyes. Funny enough, he played with his t-shirt all through the match. For sure he was the man of the moment. What an epic Portugal –Spain showdown in Sochi, Russia. Spectacular!
While that was going on, football fanatics are indulging in tattoo fads with most drawing portraits of their favourite football players, countries or the world cup trophy itself. It is no doubt that tattoo artists in Russia are making a kill out of the tattoo fad.
Let’s cheers and watch the fourteen billion -dollar World -cup with love, hopefully our favorite teams win!
