The Chamber President Richard Ngatia, Vice President Fatuma Elmaawy and the Chair Economic Diplomacy Mr. Kariuki Theuri had an opportunity to have an interactive session with the Secretary General of AfCFTA.
Mr. Weme Wenkele, who shared the framework of the secretariat and the immediate plans for the business community, emphasized that the private sector has a key role in advocacy and making the program work.
The Chamber President welcomed the move and reiterated that the Chamber of Commerce will take a lead role supporting the program through standards, capacity development, the involvement of Women, Youth and simplifying, building capacities on custom procedures facilitating open borders.
The Chamber President Richard Ngatia was endorsed for the lead role in the private sector leadership.
